STAIN-PROOF ^® Dense Stone Impregnating Sealer, formerly known as STAIN-PROOF Plus (aka Dry-Treat), is an impregnating, invisible and breathable sealer. It was engineered to protect natural stone countertops from damage caused by water, salts and oil-based stains. Additionally countertop surfaces treated with Stain-Proof Premium become easier to clean, maintain, and keep looking good for longer. Dense Stone Impregnating Sealer provides lasting protection for natural stone that comes with a 25 year warranty*.

Application Rate

Total application rate is approximately one 20 to 250 sq. feet per quart depending on absorption.
*Stain-Proof Premium Impregnating Sealer must be allowed to cure for at least 3 weeks before undertaking testing*

How To Use

1. ALWAYS TEST PRODUCT ON A SMALL AREA FIRST and allow a 24-hour cure time to determine the ease of application and desired results.
2. Ensure surfaces to be treated are dry, clean and free of residues.
3. DO NOT thin product.
4. Generously apply STAIN-PROOF™ Dense Stone Impregnating Sealer using a low-pressure hand sprayer, a clean brush or lamb’s wool applicator. Surface should have a mirror like ‘wet’ look for 3-5 seconds. Avoid contact with surrounding areas.
5. Wait for approximately 10 minutes but before the surface dries, repeat Step 4. Total application rate is approximately one pint for up to 75 sq.ft. (half liter per 7 square meters), depending on surface absorption. View our coverage chart for additional details.
6. After the final coat, wait approximately 10 minutes but, before the surface dries, polish with a clean dry white cloth to remove excess product, moistening cloth with STAIN-PROOF™ Dense Stone Impregnating Sealer to ease polishing.
7. Use an organic solvent e.g. methylated spirits to clean equipment.
8. Avoid moisture contact with the surface for six hours after application. Surface may be used after 24 hours with full cure up to 4 weeks.

Precautions

1. Do not take internally.
2. Apply when surface temperature is between 5 - 35°C (40 - 95°F).

4. Protect surrounding areas from over-spray.
5. Keep away from drains, plants, water and soil. Do not empty into drains.
6. Use only in well ventilated areas. Use a positive pressure respirator if ventilation is inadequate.
7. Wear suitable solvent resistant gloves, protective clothing, safety goggles and an organic vapor respirator during application.
8. Wash hands thoroughly after applying.

Storage

Note: Sealer will NOT prevent surface etching, scuff marks or wear and may lighten or darken some surfaces. Dense Stone Impregnating Sealer will make the maintenance and cleaning of treated surfaces much easier.

Additional instructions: Mosaic dense natural stone tiles in a wet area should be 6-sided sealed or dip sealed for 20-30 seconds, wiped off after 10 minutes and left 24 hours before adhering to floor with a premium polymer thin set such as Ardex X 77™, Ardex X 78™ or equal.

Keep container tightly sealed in a cool, well ventilated place. It is recommended that this product is best used within seven days of opening to avoid possible spoilage.

*A 25-YEAR PERFORMANCE WARRANTY is offered when product applied by an Accredited Applicator following our written instructions and surface is maintained regularly using our written maintenance system, as outlined in our warranty document. Spills should still be cleaned up immediately to minimize absorption.
